Do it yourself! Chinchin Recipe.

  • INGREDIENTS
  • 1kg of all purpose flour
  • 200g of margarine/butter
  • 1 teaspoon of grounded nutmeg
  • 1/2  teaspoon of baking powder 
  • 100g of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 eggs
  • Vegetable oil
  • 150ml whole milk or (100ml of evaporated milk or 75ml condensed milk or 70g of powdered milk) 
  • Water(add 50ml if using evaporated milk, 75ml if using condensed milk and 100ml if using powdered milk.


PREPARATION

  • Beat the eggs and set aside
  • Pour the sugar into a small bowl, add the milk and mix thoroughly.
  • In another bowl, add the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Mix well and then add the margarine/butter. Mix thoroughly with your hands until it looks like fine bread crumbs.
  • Add the beaten egg and the milk and sugar mixture into the bowl and mix well (add water little by little)  until it get smooth but stiff dough. 
  • Cover it with a dry clothes or towel for 10minutes. 
  • Knead the dough on your floured rolling board, and the roll the dough flat with your rolling pin until flattened. 
  • Then cut the flattened dough into small-small cubes
  • Then deep fry until it then golden brown.
