Do it yourself! Scotch egg Recipe


INGREDIENTS

  • 7 eggs
  • 1kg/500g of sausage 
  • 2 cups of dried  bread crumbs (seasoned) 
  • 125g or 1cup of all purpose flour 
  • 2 beaten eggs.

  • PREPARATION
  • Pre-heat oil in deep fryer to 375degree F(190 degrees C)
  • Place eggs in boiling water for 8 minutes. Remove from hot water and place in cool water then peel. 
  • Flatten the sausage and make a patty to surround each egg, very lightly flour the sausage and coat with beaten egg.  Roll in bread crumbs to cover evenly.
  • Deep fry until golden brown or pan fry while making sure each side is well cooked. 
  • Cut in half and serve over a bed of lettuce and sliced tomatoes to garnish.
